Let me tell you that stretching is an vital part of soccer training tips and professional coaches highly recommend it along with almost every player in every sport practicing it daily? Talking about soccer, it is constantly growing and developing in its difficulty.

In kid’s training for soccer, there are two types of stretching, dynamic and static stretching that are integrated.

When doing the static stretching, players draw out their muscles to a given point of resistance and hold it right there for a given amount of time. Dynamic stretching involves rhythmic bouncing, rebounding and recurring motions. In general, it is not considered as effective as static stretching and more dangerous than static stretching.

This article discusses some benefits of stretching that go a long way in making a good player great.

Stretching reduces injuries: Continuous stretching during the day and performed over a period of time may promote muscle growth that, consecutively, could reduce the risk of injury. Stretching provides a way of growing the muscle mass and strength as well.

Stretching influences flexibility: Stretching puts off the loss of flexibility. Still, the effects of stretching are way better when it is done for a long period of time than for a shorter duration.

Stretching increases flexibility when it is performed for a few minutes before any soccer activity. But, of all the soccer training tips, the best is where stretching program is extended over a longer period of time that constantly improves the player’s range of motion.

Stretching enhances performance: Player’s performance improves when stretching exercises are designed to be soccer specific.

Make stretching fun for the kids: You can do this by including a variety of soccer drills into your training regimen. Keep changing the type of warm up exercises that you perform before stretching. Try various activities like tag games, ball tag, and keep away.

Focus mentally on the stretching and feel and understand each stretch, checking for stiffness or soreness.

One 15-30-second stretch for each muscle group is sufficient for most players, but some kids require longer stretches and more repetitions as well.

The reason for this is that when the temperature of muscles is higher than normal, stiffness decreases and extensibility increases. Players who want to maintain or increase their flexibility can partly achieve this goal by stretching. When their body temperature is higher as against normal, it makes it safer and more productive to stretch.

This is the reason why some coaches make kids stretch even after a workout. Stretching for five minutes after practicing soccer skills prevents muscles from tightening too fast.

In general, players who do an active warm-up before stretching get an improved range of motion than kids who only stretch. So if injury prevention is your aim, stop stretching before exercise and increase the warm up time.

When feeling stiff or inflexible, the most important soccer training tips is to allow kids to warm up sufficiently, as doing stretches would not help them become flexible, and will become boring and futile. Can you imagine how difficult can it make things for a coach if there is lack of soccer coaching and playing experience? Let me present different facets of a coach’s personality that may be said to be the qualities of a coach.

Personality: Experience is a good thing but nothing works more than the personality. A coach’s success is generally the result of his personality, whether the end-result is a fun game without any physical and mental pressures or the creation of a consistently strong team.

Knowledge of the game: It’s imperative for a coach to be ready to learn new strategies and latest techniques in soccer. Getting to know the game’s rules, strategies, and tactics is very basic to getting player’s respect.

Enthusiasm and Interest: During a soccer training program, take the role of a salesperson. Once interest in the session is developed, motivating players becomes fairly easy. It’s also vital to be open to a player’s needs with respect to team goals, no matter what their age. If the kids freely ask questions, their interest in the game is sustained.

Persistence and Patience: It is bad to ignore the inability of the player to perform soccer drills. When a player is unable to perform, he or she loses interest in the game. Putting up unreal goals leads to frustration in young players. As such, be patient and persevere as the players try to stay inspired moving from one session to another.

Understand the learning process: A clear understanding of the learning process will help in better player and team development. Encourage the players to actively take part in exercises designed to change their way of thinking and acting.

Inspire the players to learn soccer skills through participation, demonstration, and guidance. The learning process in complete only when the players are able to utilize what’s been taught and shown to them. Learning needs active experience and not only teaching.

Imagination: Create situations that challenge the player’s imaginations, bring them pleasure in performing tasks, and serve important game drills. Cheer up the players to make their sessions more innovative and pleasing.

Free soccer training drills

In case you are like me, you most likely would understand the significance of including free soccer training drills that shows every player within your team to throw the ball in. Practically 70 percent of throw-ins are foul, during the youth soccer drills and the other team gets hold of the ball.

For that matter and important step is to ensure that every player in your team is able to carry out throw-ins accurately and get control of the ball straight away. This would catch the defense unexpectedly and would highly increase the probability of keeping the possession of the ball and thereby letting the player go behind the defense and make a run for the goal.

The only things which are needed to show the players how to get the ball back fast are a few easy steps and movements, implemented at the U-10 level and below.

While performing free soccer training drills, some soccer coaches tend to rely only on one or two players to take all throw-ins. These players are called the designated throwers. Obviously the designated thrower is the most exhausted player in the game. He is expected to race up and down the sidelines as well as through the field, have a simple throw in.

Soccer Drills

Now one more time I would restate the fact that all the players out there playing need to be encouraged to throw the ball in. Often, when the ball goes out of the boundary, a quick step forward can help it come back in to play, but the coaches do not allow this to happen. Then when that player complains, he/she is told that he/she is not a mid-fielder and the mid fielders are the only ones who are allowed to make the throws.

Throughout coaching drills it should be monitored that all the team members are given the opportunity to touch the ball as much as possible. However a quick throw-in may give a chance to score, the effects of this method is not limited to this and goes far ahead of the win-lose theory. The game usually lasts 50 to 60 minutes, with young players. Hence not too much of the time should go in placing the ball back into the play.

Soccer coaches who stress upon quick throws also play a key role in teaching strategic awareness to their opponents. In carrying out football drills, teams that defend against a designated thrower generally have at least 20 or 30 seconds to get back behind the ball because usual defending against unexpected restarts would not work.

Coaches who sincerely want to develop their players for higher level of play must give adequate time to teach their players. Every beginner should learn how to execute a proper throw-in and once that is accomplished, throw the ball back in the field and let the kids play.

Make no mistake about it; since skills, knowledge of the game, and stamina are limited at the lower age groups, during free soccer training drills, a coach should never ask the young players to do the impossible.
